About Pranayama and Meditation
Many of us pay little or no attention to how we are breathing and what role that plays in daily lives. By practicing pranayama (and/or other breathing techniques) we can become more aware of our breathing patterns and then use our breath to influence our emotional state and stress level in everyday life.
Some people are reluctant to try meditation. They fear they lack either the time, the physical ability to sit for “that long”, or the mental ability to still their thoughts. On the first two points, meditation does not have to take up much time. Most people start out with just doing 5 minutes a day. And if you just really can't sit still for 5 minutes then you may find that moving meditations are for you. On the third point, sure meditation takes practice but there are lots of ways to meditate, many of which actively engage the mind. You may be surprised at what you discover.

Believe me I know all about distractions. The mental noise is challenging but the unexpected wet, cold nose and/or finger are even worse.
