Breath-Bodywork ($80)
My favorite massage to give and receive. Breathing is of course essential to life and many of us do not realize just how strained our breathing has become. It is not uncommon for us to breathe more into one side of our chest than the other or to not use all the muscles that help us breathe due to built up tension. This 75 to 90 minute massage focuses on giving you the ability to breathe with ease. Our bodies often hold tension and stress in and around the muscles that help us breathe. Working with these muscles can allow us to take fuller, deeper breaths without strain.
Evaluation and Treatment Massage ($70)
60 to 75 minute massage designed for those seeking help with a specific area or injury. This could be anything from specific areas of muscle tension to postural issues to joint injuries or whiplash. This massage can include some time spent on evaluation and/or testing of the condition and then treatment and finally re-evaluation. Most conditions require several treatments. If you have an injury please note that massage is most beneficial in the sub-acute stage of injury, usually 48 to 72 hours post injury. Those wishing to have their PIP insurance or L&I cover the cost of treatment need a doctor's prescription.
Pregnancy Massage ($80)
75 to 90 minute massage that focuses on relaxing you and your baby as well as addressing some of the common physical changes that occur during pregnancy. Please give advance notice of how far along in the pregnancy you are so that I can prepare for the massage appropriately.
Kids Love Massage Too ($30)
30 minute massage for those who can't sit still very long.
Thai Yoga Massage ($100)
2-3 hour Traditional Thai massage. Thai massage is a combination of massage and stretching done on a floor mat. Most people find this bodywork to be truly deep work yet very relaxing and balancing. Be sure to wear loose fitting clothing that is easy for you to move around in, you will be wearing it throughout the massage.
Things to Consider Before You Make an Appointment
Please plan an extra 45 minutes if you are a first time client and an extra 20 to 30 minutes if you are a returning client. As a first time client, I will ask you to fill out a thorough and complete health history and to read and sign several policies. I realize that this is a time consuming and sometimes frustrating process. I ask you to do this so that I can give you the very best possible care. The more complete picture I have of your life and daily activities the better I am able to be resource for you. As a returning client, I will verify with you that nothing has changed and update your chart accordingly. I also wish for my clients to have enough time alotted in their day so that any questions can be answered fully. If you feel rushed to get somewhere else, we won't communicate effectively and you won't feel very relaxed. The time you spend with me is for you and your health.
If you do find yourself in a time crunch, especially as a first time client, I will be happy to mail you the forms so that you may fill them out ahead of time. The forms are also available on this site as Adobe Acrobat files. You are welcome to print them out. I will still need a few moments to read them over and possible clarify anything that I have a question on after you arrive. However, this will cut down on the time necessary to prepare for the massage. Please schedule your appointment at least one week in advance if you would like to have the forms mailed to you. Also, don't forget to tell me that you need them mailed out and be sure to give me your mailing address.
